Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus

The EOWC Inc. is a group of eleven eastern Ontario Counties and two single tier municipalities that represent some 900,000 property owners across the region. The EOWC is an advocate for Eastern Ontario by making coordinated recommendations to both the Ontario and the Federal Government. The CAO and Warden are both active members of this group and participate on committees and boards that work toward improvements in the development and improvement of the communities of Eastern Ontario. The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus is an advocate for Eastern Ontario in an effort to bring about positive change in the communities by making coordinated recommendations to both the Provincial and Federal governments.

Landmark analysis reveals rocky road ahead for local governments in Eastern Ontario

Eastern Ontario Regional Network

The Eastern Ontario Warden’s Caucus Inc. is focused on filling a vital infrastructure gap in the region: modern high-speed internet service. To fill this gap, the EOWC Inc. has created EORN (Eastern Ontario Regional Network), which is working with the EOWC Inc., the Provincial and Federal governments, and the Eastern Ontario separated cities and First Nation communities.

The Eastern Ontario Regional Broadband Network (EORN) is currently seeking applications from the public to serve on their Board of Directors. Eastern Ontario residents with an interest in the economic and technological advancement of Eastern Ontario are encouraged to apply. Further information can be obtained at:

Haliburton Highlands Cycling Coalition

The Haliburton Highlands Cycling Coalition (HHCC) formed in September 2005 with the vision that Haliburton County will provide and promote safe and enjoyable cycling of all types, for all ages. The purpose of the HHCC is to represent the interests of the cycling public within Haliburton County.

The Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit works in partnership with local residents and agencies to promote health, prevent illness and protect against disease.

HHHS provides Ambulatory/Emergency Care, Long-Term Care and Community Health programs including Diabetes Education Network, a Mental Health program and a Supportive Housing Service.

Municipal Property Assessment Corporation

MPAC administers a uniform, province-wide property assessment system based on current value assessment in accordance with the provisions of the Assessment Act. It provides municipalities with a range of services, including the preparation of annual assessment rolls used by municipalities to calculate property taxes.

Central East Local Health Integration Networks

The Central East LHIN is a mix of urban and rural geography and is the sixth-largest LHIN in land area in Ontario (16,673 km2). In densely populated urban cities, suburban towns, rural farm communities, cottage country villages and remote settlements, the Central East LHIN stretches from Victoria Park to Algonquin Park.
