Roads and Sign Permits
Establishing entrances, transporting heavy loads, placing signs or billboards or temporarily obstructing and/or holding events on or along county roads all require permits.

You will need an entrance permit if you are making or changing a property entrance on a County road.
Your deposit is refundable when your entrance is completed. You can apply for an entrance permit via the Permit Central App. |

Oversize/overweight trip permit (OD permit) |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
You will need an OD permit if you are transporting any vehicle and load combination on a County road in excess of the limits set by the Ministry of Transportation. An OD permit is required if your vehicle and load is greater than:

Road occupancy permit |

You will need a road occupancy permit if you are doing any work that temporarily blocks or occupies a portion of a County road or road allowance. There is no fee for low-impact requests. Apply for a permit for an event in right-of-way via the Permit Central App. Apply for a municipal consent permit via the Permit Central App. Apply for a permit to work in our right-of-way via the Permit Central App. |

Sign permits |

You will need a sign permit to put up or alter an advertising sign along a County road. Field advertising signs (billboards) are only permitted on the following roads:

Special events permit (Rail Trail) |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
You will need a special events permit if you are holding an event on the Haliburton County Rail Trail. Your permit does not allow for exclusive use of the trail. There is no fee for this permit. |
