Troubleshooting the WebGIS
The Web GIS Interactive Maps are optimized for use through Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browser (Version 9 or later) and do not function properly with Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, Opera, Firefox, or any other browser or MAC operating system browsers. Therefore, any browser that is not Internet Explorer is not supported. Ensure that Internet Explorer (Version 9 or later) is the primary browser being utilized.
- If you are experiencing problems using Internet Explorer with some functions not working as documented or the viewer is not appearing on the screen, refresh the browser first by closing all browser windows that are open. Reopen the browser, then place your cursor in the web address located in the address bar of the browser and select F5.
- Disable any Pop-up Blockers you may have running on the computer since the Web GIS may need to open new browser windows for some functions. Disable the Pop-up Blocker by selecting the Tools menu, followed by the Pop-up Blocker option, and select the Turn off Pop-up Blocker option. If this does not work immediately, repeat step 1 above.
Flash Player & Settings
- The current Web GIS operates using the latest Flash Player. Download Adobe Flash Now!
- If you are still experiencing map viewer issues, this may be a result of problems with Adobe Flash Player. Using the Adobe Storage Settings Panel, a user can delete a site from the users list of visited websites. Any information a website may have stored on the user’s computer can be deleted and reloaded again. (Adobe has no access to the list of visited sites, or any of the information that the websites may have stored on the user’s computer.) From the Website Storage Settings Panel screen, select the Web GIS site (gis.haliburtoncounty.ca), from the available list, select the Delete website button and select confirm. Try reloading the Web GIS site again.
