HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON (Monday, March 31, 2025) - The County of Haliburton is declaring a partial state of emergency to support the Township of Minden Hills recovery from the significant weather event that occurred between March 28th – March 30th.
The County Emergency Operations Centre has been established and is monitoring the situation, working with the Township of Minden Hills, Province, and neighbouring municipalities to address conditions.
For those residents who need a warming centre, one has been established at the S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena (55 Parkside St., Minden).
Please continue to stay off roads, if possible, away from trees and hydro lines, and check on your neighbours when safe to do so. If residents are in danger, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
For downed power lines:
Contact Hydro One directly at 1-800-434-1235. DO NOT call 911 for downed power lines or trees, unless it’s a life-threatening emergency.
Power restoration may take several days in some areas due to the scale of damage. Ontario Hydro is working on power outages in the area. To report an outage, please text “outage” to 92887 (WATTS), or call 1-800-434-1235. For power outage updates, please visit hydroone.com/outages.
