County COVID-19 Assessment Centre in operation as of March 31, 2020
Local health service providers (Haliburton Highlands Family Health Team, Haliburton County, and Haliburton Highlands Health Services) have collaborated in the creation of a local COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre.
If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms:
- Complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment at Ontario.ca/coronavirus
- If indicated by the self-assessment results, contact the Haliburton County COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre at 705-457-1212 (press 6) during regular business hours.
- If symptoms are severe, please call 911 and alert the dispatcher to your symptoms.
- If you have symptoms, before visiting any healthcare facility, call ahead, let them know about travel history and symptoms (such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing) so that they can make special arrangements to see you quickly and ensure that they use proper infection control measures.
About the Haliburton County COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre
The Haliburton County COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre is staffed by health care providers who will complete a phone assessment and advise as to appropriate next steps, which may include self-monitoring instructions, self-isolation instructions, or further assessment and possible testing in the drive-through facility.
Please note that testing is by appointment only. Testing at Haliburton County COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre will be administered according to the Ministry of Health Guidelines based on the results of assessment. It is important for the public to know that not everyone will be tested.
