A new family physician for Haliburton County
The County of Haliburton, along with the Haliburton Highlands Family Health Organization, is pleased to announce that Dr. Sharysse Kayoumedjian will be joining the healthcare team at the Haliburton Family Medical Centre as of March 1, 2025.
Dr. Kayoumedjian first came to Haliburton in 2023 to explore practice opportunities as a locum physician. “I immediately fell in love with the town and most importantly the community,” she said. “Never in my life have I worked in a place where I have genuinely felt happy to go every single day. The community is filled with kind and warm people, and it would be my honor to serve this community as a family physician for the next two years.”
Dr. Kayoumedjian will be assuming the patients of Dr. Tina Stephenson who retired in 2023. There is no capacity for her to be rostering new patients at this time.
“On behalf of the County of Haliburton, I want to extend a sincere welcome to Dr. Kayoumedjian and express my enthusiasm that she has chosen this region to work as a family physician,” said Haliburton County Warden Dave Burton. “Thanks to the hard work of our physician recruitment team, the residents of Haliburton County will gain better access to local health care.”
Dr. Kayoumedjian attended medical school in the Caribbean at Saba University School of Medicine and completed residency in Buffalo, NY. She is originally from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Kayoumedjian to the area.
