Due to an engineer review, settlements and erosion of the Bobcaygeon Road “Sunnybrook” Main Street Bridge, the structure will continue to remain CLOSED to vehicular traffic, but has been reopened for pedestrian use only.
The Township will be seeking further reviews of the structure, which will be reopened, at the earliest opportunity, as public safety and the protection of infrastructure permits.
Roads that have been RE-OPENED:
- Milne Street at the intersections of Water Street and Newcastle Street.
- Pritchard Lane at the intersections of Milne Street and St. Germain Street.
- Bobcaygeon Road at the intersections of Newcastle Street and onto Water Street only.
- Booth Street
- Prince Street
Due to the anticipated increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic over the Victoria Day Long Weekend; caution, consideration and patience is requested in the downtown area, until the Bobcaygeon Road “Sunnybrook” Main Street Bridge has been fully re-opened.
Water Street will remain open to local traffic only, and CLOSED to non-residential pedestrian and vehicular use (those who do not live in the Water Street area), from the intersection of Prince Street to Canadian Tire, due to a watermain break. The depth of the existing watermain is approximately 12’ deep. Water levels will need to significantly decrease in order for repairs to take place, so the full re-opening of this street remains unknown at this time.
Deep Bay Road and Scotchline Road remain open
